Baker boy caps emerged in the 1800’s and were worn by unskilled labourers – initially in the UK, Italy & Ireland .By the early 20th century the style had been adopted in America probably from the many European immigrant families .This 6 panelled cap became known as a Baker boy or Newsie cap as they were favoured by newspaper runners & delivery boys across America. The six panels made them less full than the Shelby more suitable for a younger wearer. Our Baker boy caps are made with wool rich fabrics & have a half elastic hatband for extra fit & comfort
